Marsh & Company, P.A. was founded in 2000 providing audit, tax and consulting services as Certified Public Accountants. From our modest beginnings, we have grown to two partners and 13 staff providing high quality services to our real estate clients. Both partners bring over twenty-five years of experience to the firm, including national firm experience with Grant Thornton, Arthur Andersen and McGladrey & Pullen. Our staff members include eight CPAs and five CPA candidates.
Over the past 25 years, the partners of the firm have completed hundreds of cost certification audits, including low-income housing and historic tax credit certifications. Significant tax credit projects in our portfolio include Kansas City’s Downtown Central Library (project size - $22 million), IRS Center in Kansas City (project size - $375 million), Library Lofts Apartments (project size - $44 million) and Hawthorne Plaza in Independence (project size - $37 million). We are currently involved in the consulting phase of a number of Kansas and Missouri affordable and historic projects where we work with the owners and developers in ownership structure and financing, in systems development to identify qualified costs and with other consulting needs.
Kansas Housing Resource Corporation and Missouri Housing and Development Commission are the tax credit-granting agencies we work with most often. We have developed a strong relationship with their auditing and compliance division and have successfully moved our projects through their extensive review process.
Our quality control systems include an AICPA-approved peer review process and professional liability insurance. We are covered by CAMICO, a leader in providing risk management exclusively for firms practicing as Certified Public Accountants.
